I write fiction. My latest novel, Shriek: An Afterword, is now out in the US, published by Tor. I'm currently co-editing a series of anthologies with my wife, Ann, who is also the fiction editor of Weird Tales. We have three cats, all of whom have eccentric personalities. Soon, I will be moving to WordPress and my happiness will be complete.

I think a pirate fiction anthology is too important to be sullied with this crude type of humor.
For the Glory, Adventure, and Gold.
But mostly for the gold.
Is 'ass' really a pirate word? It feels too contemporary.
I think they said 'arse'.
Or maybe 'scurvy arse'.
Or perhaps they referred to it in a more elliptical way, such as 'poop deck'.
